Looks like Woolies won't survive, but if the sites are bought up by other retailers then hopefully some people will get re-employed (albeit in Sainburys or Lidl).

Yeah that's true, and a shame. Woolies is the best shop in Newmarket (OK the standard isn't that high), they sell all sorts, gardening stuff, light bulbs, kids toys, DIY stuff, paint, kitchen stuff - only place in the town for CDs - the list goes on.

And the one thing Newmarket does NOT need is another f*ing Tescos driving all the other shops out of business and clogging up the high street with their delivery lorries. I'm not happy
