Each milestone results in apprehension doesn't it. I still breathe easy when I see the car pull up outside. I guess the feeling will go slowly just as I no longer think about them going out by themselves where once I did. I've even stopped sitting yawning on the couch until they get in late and just go to bed now. Though son2 is interrailing in Europe currently and I'm on holiday. Just in case, I have my passport with me in Devon.

I suspect this all part of the most difficult part of being a parent, letting them go, letting them spread their wings and fly.

Son passed 3 years ago, which is the last time he drove. As a student in Leeds he's not found any reason to own or drive a car.
Daughter has just booked her first practical and there are mixed feelings about wanting a first time pass. At £62 a go first time would be best, BUT on other hand she would be unbearably smug with both as nobody else passed first time.

Anybodys offspring have any experience of Marmalade?
