Sorry to hear that

Mine went a while ago - both quite close together

but it is always a shock - sending sympathy

I was thinking before of some of the things that he told me over the years and that I wish I had asked more about

I often think off things in my current situation that my mum and dad would love. My dad died before his great grandson was born but my mum had severe dementia and my daughter couldn’t face taking my grandson to meet as she wanted remember her gran in a positive light.
My mum and dad would have so loved to see my daughter married.
They would have been estatic about our dog Bertie.

Not my parents as both died 24 and 8 years ago respectively, but my ex father in law died last week. 'Big Bad Bob' died aged 86, I found out from my ex sister in laws post on Facebook. I haven't seen him for must be 9 years since me and Mrs Accy separated, but I was still quite saddened to hear of his death.

I lost my mother 52 years ago and my father 42 years ago. Still think about them, not every day, but often. I recall going to bed after my father's funeral and feeling I'd never been so alone. I couldn't explain to Mrs K quite how I felt.

Just remembered, BBB was an ex fairground bare knuckle fighter, ex doorman/bouncer and thought nothing of drinking 15 pints of mild or bitter on a night out! Hence the nickname Big Bad Bob! 😏 😁
