Anyone had one this year? We have an annual one on June 1st but with the recession have had none for 2 years now, just been offered 1.5% this time.
Is this about right or are we being 'had' again?

That's good. I got 0.5% last year

Inflation has been running at 3-4% so you have "lost" 9% of your income in real terms over the last 3 years- which is indeed a bummer.

It might not feel too bad right now,but when they put up interest rates it might start to hurt a bit.

yes indeedy, a lot of people have been cushioned due to reduced mortgage payments but the banks are getting itchy. All that filthy lucre just sitting waiting to be had, all they need to do is key in a little number change. Though they're a little worried about the potential for hyper inflation. Some estimates reckon it could dwarf that seen in the early 90's and get up around the 25% mark.

'about right' is determined by what your company can afford. If the bosses are giving themselves 20% while you get 1.5, then that sucks. But the notion of a 'going rate' is a bit outdated really. I don't think there's really any such thing. (I speak as one who hasn't had a rise in a decade - I'm just pleased to have a job, TBH.)

Good luck with your efforts potsy.
Meanwhile, a propos nothing at all (for I am not an expert like MacB and Co.) you can play with numbers here.

Our pay review is due in September, but seeing as they've just made a bunch of people redundant I'll not be holding my breath.
