Couldn't you ask the sender of the cheque to make one out to your wife or to cash? (or send postal orders?)


Yeah I did, however its from a solicitor so they wont (Its now been posted)

gb- no option then but open an account- you don't have to use it once it's in place, or you could just close it straightaway. [Might be handy in future though?]

WOW, That was a Pain in the Ass

Went to the issuer, HSBC, They refused to cash it.

Went to Lloyds (My wifes bank) they wouldn't put it into her account, I asked to open a Basic account , they said yes, then when I sat down with someone and refused to transfer all my incoming into what was gonna become my account, they got shirty and refused to give me an account....

SOOOOOO. I went and made my Wife's account a Joint Account.........Now I feel Dirty :biggrin:
