It's the day to day stuff that's probably worse, breaking into a conversation for instance. We all get a seconds grace when talking to someone, you can see the other person and what he's about to do, that second allows you to wait, or join in.
You can sometimes see the fustration on dads face when he gets it wrong and gets talked over or drowned out. I'm always very conscious of making sure he gets his say...help him back into the conversation. Those little things can have such an impact on someones happiness...let alone the bigger picture.
Good for you, making sure he has his say. Yes, those little things make all the difference.

On my ride back home, I sometimes see a blind friend with his guide dog, walking home from work. It sounds strange, but I was initially nervous to stop and say hello, in case I broke his ryhthm, in case I broke his concentration (and even that of his dog!).

Very very sad. Hopefully he is in a better place now. Absolutely awful for his family too, and for his colleagues.
