Here for rides.
I haven't been to the Peaks for a good while and I've never visited on a touring bike.

The website for L'Eroica Britannia caught my eye and I thought the long route could perhaps make the basis for a couple of days B&B based touring over a long weekend, probably staying in the same B&B the whole time. Ideally a cyclist friendly one.

I like windy roads, climbs and descents, sweeping vistas, quiet lanes, industrial archaeology, museum/gallery cafes, and good beer.

Is it worth doing at some point before September? What should I ensure I don't miss? What's worth avoiding/missing out?

Slightly off route (3 miles from Tissington) is the village of Monyash, the Bulls Head is a great pub and the Stilton Garlic Mushrooms are fantastic. Good campsite too.

I know the hope valley part like the back of me hand and I've put that bit on google to show you something because your map isn't that accurate. When you get to Hope instead of going castleton and then chapel en le frith you can go straight on and up Edale road to Edale and then loop round around some of the most spectacular views you will ever see. You can then go back into castleton and see the castle if you like, which if I'm honest is a bit rubbish and the main road that goes along past the caverns is full of tourists looking for a parking space so I wouldn't bother. Personally I would go from Edale road to the top Castleton road, stop off at the no car cafe and then the chestnut centre just outside chapel en le frith and see the owls and otters

The bottom bit of that map is our back-yard.
Don't miss Ilam and the surrounding lanes. Can get a bit busy there at weekends, but loads of lanes in that area are quiet and full of sharp climbs and beauty.
If you have time you should get a look at the Roaches, on the leek-buxton road ( except don't use that road yourself for any distance!here are plenty of back lanes to get you there with minimum main-roadage.)
