.... any others out there a fan?
Mrs FF wasn’t keen, nor is my current owner @Hill Wimp
In stews, soup, salads, an alternative to rice it has many uses. What’s not to like?

A food technologist will tell you that it's just a cheap filler with no taste and very little nutritional value. You might as well put sugar puffs in your stew, at least they taste of something

Love it, but best paired with strong flavours / good gravy.

I use it instead of arborio rice for risottos, especially with mushrooms.

Comfort food for me. Mum used to put it in stew, Dad still does. I'm not sure what it is though.

It's the same grain that's used to make beer.

Also a nice addition to pumpernickel-style breads. :hungry:

Quite dreadful
There is a mill near us that produces the stuff, there are a lot of barley barons around these parts (they could give russian olygarks a run for their money any day of the week) , anyway, used to shift 26 dumpy bags of the stuff at a time into big food producing plants down south - what do they do with it ?
Add a load of condemned meat and feed it to eight year olds?
