Hope you make a speedy recovery, Origamist. Looks like the kid got off lightly, by all accounts.
Who called the ambulance? you or someone else?

A concerned member of the public phoned the police and ambulance, immediately after the impact - she said it looked very bad! An emergency paramedic arrived first, followed by an ambulance, followed by the police. We were both given the once over by the paramedics, and I gave a statement about the incident.

The kid told me it was his second RTA - last time he broke his collar bone!

I cycled sedately into work this morning as I'm still sore - my ribs are giving me trouble...

How about giving work a miss, if possible? Or at least not cycling for a while?

Cycling is actually easier than walking/getting up! But you're prob right, I should be taking it easy...
