my favourites included Black Jacks & Fruit salads, Pink Shrimps,the little sugar white mice (with string for a tail ) and the bananas (especially the ones dipped in chocolate)never was a fan of the sherbert filled flying saucers !

I can just about remember farthings being in circulation. I used to go into the sweetshop in Dumblederry Lane with a penny and ask for three Four For A Penny Chews to see if I would get one in my change.

When I we were about 4 the girl next door once showed me her 'tuppence'. I was surprised and disappointed that it wasn't the really big sweet that the apparent doubling in price had been leading me to expect.

My favourites were orange Mojo and the really flat cola bottles that used to be 1/2p each.
