A while ago I tried to ride along the costal path from Penzance to Marazion. It started off nice and smooth but I had to dismount and walk when the path turned to loose stones. I heard that this path was going to be paved all the way. Does anyone know if it has happened yet?

Yes, it has.

Set against the backdrop of St Michael’s Mount and Penzance Railway Station, the multi-use path is popular with residents and visitors, but prone to the elements with storm damage creating uneven surfaces and, at times, forcing the closure of some sections.

The upgrade will provide walkers and cyclists with a new resurfaced path and a new link to take the route away from Longrock car park. There will also be new benches along the path and improved access to the beach for people with mobility issues, as well as plans to develop an arts trail along the route which embraces the assets of the area, creating a unique experience for residents and visitors year-round.

We had a route using this for our LEJOG last July. It wasn't rideable at that time with a couple of stretches that were completely blocked off for the upgrades which meant dismounting and pushing the bike around the sandy areas near the path. We gave up and changed to the road for the ride into Marazion. Don't know if this is still the situation

It has been paved now. Very attractive views of Mount St Michael and Mounts Bay.
