Our "local" theatre (Par Hall) is quite good and has some good turns on. At ground floor/stage level they have individual, stacking type seats while the balcony has fixed seats.....perhaps 10 tiered rows
Occasionally they will have the type of act where all downstairs seats are removed so people can enjoy dancing etc.......great-I am all for that.
A few nights ago we went to a show (Floral Pavilion-New Brighton) which was 'all seating' but some people think it is OK to stand up and dance where they are sat...........b****r the people behind that want to sit and watch the show.
If I just want to listen to the music I will sit at home and put the cd on.
Personally I think it is wrong and it annoys me when people do not consider others.
Call me Victor Meldrew but!!!
BTW.........the show was a Pink Floyd tribute called The Wall..........and it was EXCELLENT. If you like Floyd and get the chance they are a 'must see'.

Provided the organisers make provision so that the disabled, or those who simply want to remain seated, still have a view then its fine by me.

Could you go up in the stalls? or right at the front so you can see in the future?
It would annoy me as well, thats why I'd do as suggested, there are lots of very selfish people around.
There were no "stalls"..........all one gradually sloping floor.
For visual reasons I can't sit at the front of any show/theatre...........or near my TV.
As I said.........we were fortunate as no one did it in front of us but I could see some people getting really annoyed.

Absolutely..........fully agree. Its when people in seats (middle of the row) stand up and block the view of people behind them that it annoys me.

We went to a 60s evening in Solihull recently, and were among the youngest people there, despite being in our late 50s. One rather drunken group of "ladies" kept getting up and dancing at their seats, repeatedly nudging the people in front .... and then it happened. GRANNY FIGHT !!! The theatre security guys really didn't know how to handle that one! Eventually a couple of grannies got frogmarched out of the place to cheers from all around us. Rather surreal. I for one was glad to see the back of them.

I've been to a few shows locally, Belgrade Theatre, The Albany Theatre, where by the end of the show most of the audience were up and dancing, I don't have a problem with that. The last one we went to they had two small dance floors set up by the stage, but there were still a lot of people dancing in their seats.

These days I like a seat, but I only go to see people like Billy Bragg and John Bramwell these days, no dancing there then!

The all seated, people up and dancing gig is the problem for the venue and promoter to solve.
If it's music with a beat that people like to move to then they should make it dancing with some seating for those that want/require it.

The good thing about all seating is that nobbers don't chuck beer.
