I've stopped going to gigs now precisely because of the selfish arses who think it's ok to stand in front of you without a second thought. Our last gig was at Leeds arena, spoiled by the aforementioned t***s.

It's quite steeply tiered there. A bunch of about 6 in front spent the whole night going to and from the bar, staggering back with booze, standing up, filming on mobiles and being a general pain in the arse. I don't think one of them spent more than five minutes looking towards the stage all night.

I've been to quite a few shows here in Edinburgh where the performers have tried to get the audience up on their feet for a dance/sing a long at the end of the show - they've had to try really hard to get more than a handful up. Well, what do they expect, it is Edinburgh after all. I imagine they don't have the same problem with a Glasgow audience.

If there is a performance of any kind where the general public are invited, then I send my Butler to 'enjoy' the experience for me....it saves a lot of angst....

I went to see Sunny Afternoon about the Kinks at the Bristol Hippodrome (great show, BTW). The last two numbers were my all-time faves - Lola & Waterloo Sunset. Everyone got up for Lola!.

Damn straight, there's only one way to enjoy a popular beat combo.

Gig standers are in the same league as people who pip their horns in the street late at night; inconsiderate and selfish.

One wouldn't go to the cinema or the opera and prance about like a demented fool, and one shouldn't do so at a different engagement at a similarly seated venue. Its so dreadfully gauche.

Nope, never.

Mrs D and some chums went to a Sound of Music showing and they went dressed as nuns. If that wasn't bad enough they went out for a meal first in their outfits causing much consternation in the restaurant.

I'm not into dancing as to me it's a waste of time and energy. I'm trying to imagine someone dancing to Lola. It's quite a slow tune so i can't see how one could dance to it.

I recently paid too much to goto a seated but outdoor gig. I didn't mind when everyone stood up until a dude decided to stand right infront of my wife and record the best song. I gave him a bit of a nudge (I lost my temper). Opps

About 20 years ago I reluctantly agreed to take my wife to see Bryan Adams at Wembley Arena. Neither of us registered that the date coincided with my first time running at the London Marathon, until it was too late.

Needless to say, everyone in the Arena apart from one miserable aching s*d spent most of their time standing and bopping.

On reflection, not being able to see Mr Adams was an added bonus.
