It's for life. You can, and will be improsoned for revealing any secret information. Hence why finding a real story from a real SF serviceman are few and far between. Anyone bragging is usually talking shite and they stand out like a dogs dick.

You'll know the real ones. They carry themselves in a certain way. I can't describe it. Very powerful men.

Information about classified operations of course, but is prior membership of the regiment actually classified?

Unless you're denying the existence of the regiment, which they aren't, I can't see any reason it would remain classified. Perhaps to protect them?

Isn't that the seat mochette from the APT??
I don't like to talk about it but I have pictures of that train wreck at it's final resting place in Rotherham. It was a tradegy! I took the pictures myself but I can't tell you how I got them!

Can't really/don't really want to get into this. So I'll answer it as blandly as I can.

In a nutshell, yes. To both your questions.

Fishy medals? My brother-in-law is a Marine, and until recently, my brother was in the Navy. They both got a medal for being in Kosovo. BIL constantly needles brother because for my brother, 'being in Kosovo' meant bobbing about in the Adriatic on an aircraft carrier...

Lewis survived 10 Para for a number of years, and really did pass selection for 23. The story I relate above is apparently true. Despite passing they wouldn't take him because he was too well.known.
Lewis Collins sounds like an independent shoe shop that shut down 25 years past. Or maybe an opticians.

I have a friend who was involved in the first Gulf war. When I say involved, he was in the RAF based in Hong Kong and was asked to stay late one night to crate up a couple of 'night sun' helicopter search lights. An act of selfless sacrifice that he got paid overtime for. Strangly he was never awarded a campaign medal.
