I can often be guilty of a little road anger/frustration, I sometimes flap my arms, shout, or mutter under my breath. I do try to always thank consideration, but the chaps at Bont decided to post this on their facebook feed this morning and I thought it was bang on enough to share:

When they beep their horn, smile and say thank you.
When they hurl abuse at you, smile and say "have a nice day".
Hatred on hatred will only further enrage.

Above all, when someone gives you those extra inches on the road, irrespective of whether you are legally entitled to it, really honestly thank them!

Unfortunately some knuckle draggers would take offence at a cyclist being nice to them:wacko:

I wave enthusiastically for too long with the silliest grin I can manage. If ever they stop to ask why, in the knuckle dragger sense, I'm waving. I have a reply ready. It is this.

My Great Aunt has a car/van/lorry just like yours, I thought you were her. (I'm 61.)

Struggling up a steep narrow hill with walls boxing me in and someone revs up behind and beeps at me. I rarely swear in anger but couldn't help it, followed by a good wobble towards them as I put some power down in a low gear look round at them and the wheel lifts off
