Yellow frame has later super record rear mech. Also has rare narrow band 4 hole front mech. No expense spared to kit them out BITD

Noticed last night the rear tyre on my R.E.W was on the soft side and upon closer inspection the sidewall were all cracked and flaky , so thought it's time i fitted a set of Panracer pasella's i have laying around .

I hate folding tyres always a pain to get seated and sure enough 3 times it blew off the rim , so left it at a lower pressure and if it's on the rim in the morning i will give it a ride to make sure it's seated .

Might be selling the R.e.w reynolds which the frame was built by Kevin Sayles whilst he was woking at Woodrup's

The white Thame had another 20+ mile ride on bank holiday monday which went well.

Handed over my Fahrrad to its new owner earlier on today

And tonight just fitted a set of Rubino slick's to some rims that have slipped in place on the yellow unknown possibly another Thame ready for a test ride tomorrow

Well quick update the white Thame completed a 50 mile ride yesterday taking it over the 100 miles since my ownership began. Still a few niggles to sort but overall a very nice riding machine.

The yellow machine has just had its longest ride to date at 20 miles with 2 previous 5 mile shakedown rides . So early days for this one I expected it to feel really small but so far it doesn't. It is a lively ride and like the white one it wants to go fast rather than like some bikes just seem happy pootling about.

At first glance deore lx groupset and running gear .
Gears are reluctant so just sprayed some lube in to the trigger shifters , re routed the rear brake cable in to the eyes and guess what they seem to have some effect.

More dust than rust so hopefully it should come up ok .

When I got my Marin Bear Valley these just released around the same time.

Tyres inflated so will see if they are flat tomorrow.

Seat post is free to move forgot to check the stem .

Well i left the lube for an hour or two to soak in and by then I had 5 of the 7 rear gears selecting but only the granny ring on the front.

The tyres had stayed inflated and I checked the stem and that's free to move and adjust ok.

So I thought I would have an evaluation ride along the cycle path and within 2 miles I had all 21 gears selecting with ease and once I pushed the saddle right forward on the rails it actually felt comfortable enough.

Those old Speccy mtb's are getting quite sort after these days, should have no trouble selling that.

Or you could convert it in to a cargo bike ;)

https://www.stayercycles.com/product/carryon-conversion-kit/

That's very true as nobody wanted them once all the suspension ones hit the scene .

It will initially just be tidied up and cleaned up as it doesn't seem to bad in all fairness.

This conversion was a bit simpler and didn't involve welding: it was a simple bolt-on kit, one of the original long tail bikes.

Unfortunately they aren't made any more, but this one has worked well for 20years.

I never realised that you could've got a bolt on cargo bike conversion, every day is a learning day.

Up early this morning and decided to give the headset a once over.

Forks dropped out and given a quick de grease and polish, front wheel hub and rim also cleaned.

Headset was in good condition so cleaned up and fresh grease then all put back together and test ridden.
