Most of the haters on this forum will only want to criticise the soldiers, not help them out.

Good on you for doing something for these guys. We'll need guys like them to protect us one day....

Sounds good to me, but being a male, send present's to another man would just honestly feel a little too odd, especially as he is a stranger.

I do think the lads need all the help they can get, I know someone who is going back to Basra in the next few weeks though

I am impressed by the general tone of the comment so far. I think too often the political aspects of why we are in Iraq and Afghanisatan confuses the human story that there are some young men and women from this country trying to do a very difficult job. There are some very attractive (and some not so) women out there as well, so you do not need to send something to another man.

What happens is that I give you the email address of a woman who is organising this. You get allocated a Para and are given his BFPO address. There are guidelines and suggestions of what may and may not be sent ie no hardcore porn or alcohol and you must not divulge your full name or address. Pm me for full details.
thanks.

Some of us might want to though....;)

This might put a para in a quandary. He can get unlimited supplies of porn, fags, tabasco and luxury foods from his pen friend, but does he admit to his mates that he's having to send pictures back of his tanned pecs?

User, good on you for your SSAFA work. I do some work with Forces' charities too (not with clients) and their determination to look after their men and women is commendable.
