Ordered the giant

Don't get tooo hung up on the weight but some bloke on here just bought this year's Defy Composite 2... weighed in at 8.1kgs... I imagine the 3 is very similar as the spec is pretty much the same.

Giant might be an acquired taste, visualswise, but that particular model sat in my local Giant Store for about a year and a half and it's very pleasing in the flesh, not quite so straight a blue as in the pics, a bit more navy, and a sparkling metallic hue.

Oh it's carbon by the way, even to the seatpost!

Yeah that was me with the Defy Comp. Although I should point out that was with my Selle Italia Max Flite Gel Flow Saddle on if that makes any difference, does feel lighter that the stock saddle but only marginally. There is a review of the exact bike I bought on YouTube where the guy weighed the Large model in his workplace and it came back 8.3kg. Not sure if these are good weights for carbon framed bikes or not as only ever had aluminium before.

Also, defo agree with what Cyclist33 says the entire Defy range looks so much better in the flesh. My bike looked like a gun metal grey on the Giant website but in person is more of a Goldy silvery metallic colour which was a really pleasant surprise. Anyone who sells Giant tends to just use the stock pictures too so its hard to know what they really look like until you see them up close.

Enjoy your new bike OP, you will totally love the Defy Comp!
