Seeing a few here, in "soggy" Cumbria.

Been out for the last hour or so in Cumbria, normal ISS plus various satellites / Irridium and meteor trails from all directions.

Looking at the point of origin of the perseids showed flashes rather than streaks so I guess the direction of travel is towards the viewer ...

The Leonids in November seem to be better value?

Ah, so it wasn't just me then. In 45 mins around 11pm I only saw 3 and a number of pinpoint flashes - maybe they were meteors coming straight towards me. Could see the Milky Way fairly clearly so the sky was clear too. I'm in a rural area so light pollution not too bad. Seen more meteors in previous years.

I saw 2, one of them very bright, very long and impressive, when I glanced out of the bedroom window around 1am wondering which way I had to look... Didn't see any more so went back to sleep.

It was, however, a beautiful starry night last night.

Saw three in the space of about 10 minutes at about 11.30 last night, in just the small segment of sky I could see from my window. One was particularly bright.

2 very faint ones then one very bright, streak, then cloud. Though It was very nice stood in the garden and actually looking at the stars for a change.

Rode south out of the city... saw a couple of flashes between 11:00 - 11:30 but think the glare from cph and the airport washed a lot out.

TBH every year they make a bit of a fuss about the perseids and every year they're a non-event. This time of year, the Milky way is pretty much directly overhead (when it eventually gets dark!) and even in skies with a bit of light pollution you can pick it out and detail like the Cygnus rift.

We drove out past Barford on the watton road and parked up at a footpath end that goes to the Barnham Broom golf course. We sat out on the bonnet of the car, watching for an hour or so. There was a bit of whispy cloud about but not a lot so we had a lovely view of the Milky Way.
We got a bit cold, after a while, so came home again.

Far too much light pollution where we live to see much, although I did go out about 2am or so, and have a look. You could see the city lights from Barford. We didn't go far enough out really. Shooting stars were much more visible when we lived in the Highlands but then, our nearest streetlight (singular) was a good 7 miles away.
