I've had a bit of a search and I can't find a thread on it, so what are your petty hates when you're out on your bike?

To kick off, I hate when I'm labouring up a hill and have to watch in dismay as someone looks left and right, sees there is no traffic but still presses the button at the pedestrian crossing. I could easily keep going and avoid them but I always stop and then have the struggle to get up to speed.

Petty I know. Anyone else like me?

I'm with you on that one. Petty perhaps, but it annoys me as well.
Mine... (and the wifes)...the time it takes to get sorted to get on the bike. It seems like forever..and the wife frequently hurries me on.

On my commute to work there is a hill(South Gosforth), at the bottom of that hill there are a set of double roundabouts and a pedestrian crossing. The usual way I get up the hill is to use a medium gear and try to get a head start before going down to a granny gear but if somebody uses pedestrian crossing I get no head start leading to a struggle on the hill

I hate being engulfed by cycling clubs when i am out riding at the weekends. I am finding i am either having to get up really early at the weekends to get out before them or wait until much later.
I love the fact that cycling and cycling clubs are getting more popular but round in my area they are getting a bit of a reputations as road hogs.

Rant over.

Worse are the little punks who just push the button as they walk bye and have no intention of crossing then smirk as they walk past you :cursing:

Those bits that are like going downhill but the other way around, so you go really slowly and your legs hurt.

The same bit of road will be fantastic, fast and terrifyling in one direction and in the other direction you can hardly do 5mph in your lowest gear.

I hate that. Roads that are downhill should be downhill both ways.

It's only fair.

Boris I think i need to re read this in the morning, i'm confused ??
