I have been watching this item on E-bay
Peugeot
However some of the comments regarding compatibility raised on Percy's thread Old frame/New groupset
have made me reconsider. As the bike stands, assuming all is OK on it, it would do me OK, once those awful horizontal secondary brake levers are junked! I am just a little concerned that should I need to change anything if normal bits would fit. This is not something I would find out until I come to do the job. I am thinking of bottom bracket, fitting a cartridge. I am not too bothered about upgrading, just replacing worn items, such as derailleurs, should it become necessary. The steel wheels put me off a little but they can be changed for alloys as funds allow. I am strictly a leisure cyclist. I don't race or commute or do very high mileages. My longest rides are about 30 miles at about 12mph on my hybrid, but generally I go out 10 miles, have a cuppa, then come home 10 miles.
I don't know much about Peugots and compatibility, so would I be buying a load of potential problems with this bike? (even assuming I win the auction)
Advice welcomed.

). I've never had to touch the headset apart from re-greasing it but it does appear slightly different to the British norm (a superior design imo, but God knows where you would find a replacement. Sheldon Brown says you can fit the standard bottom parts which are most likely to be worn). The other oddities are the way the Mafac brake caliper mounts at the back and the 24mm seatpost.
