Cheers smokeysmoo - am well pleased with it.

I should probably have got a professional respray - doing it at home with cans of paint is very tricky! Still, if I really like it after a few hundred miles I might do that.

What frame/kit are you building up?

It's only an 80's Pug Carbolite, but when you're 6' 5" it's not easy to find frames big enough, and this one is at 62cm! I'm only having it pro sprayed as my mate is a car sprayer so I get them done VERY cheaply but VERY well done

I'm doing a 10 speed conversion and I've ordered a new Campag Veloce Black groupset for it, (even if I don't like the build for any reason this will be my new stock groupset for any future builds, so it'll prove good value).

I already have black Halo Aerorage wheels, bars and stem, (doing an Ahead stem conversion to modern stem/bar combo), managed to source a brand new 24mm x 300mm seatpost. So just need a threaded sealed headset, tyres, decals, saddle and mudguards, (it's to be my winter bike), and I'm sorted.

It's being sprayed pearlescent white, and I'm planning on THESE decals at the moment. So I think with the white paint, black components and black wheels it should hopefully look good.

This was supposed to be a budget build, (as was the last one ), but I get carried away when I see nice things

This is the last Pug I did, sadly the frame was a tad too small, but I throughly enjoyed the whole process of doing it, and if the current project turns out half as good I'll be a happy camper.

This is my recent Pug project. All done for under £100 including the bike. Cheap hack really, had the saddle, tyres, tubes and pedals already. Added new cabling, bar tape, wheel bearings and a bloody good clean, lube adjust. Touched up a few rust spots and scratches. Weighs 10.25 kg without pedals, not bad for a basic Columbus frame.

I like this bike. All that for so little is surely making most CC'ers green with envy!

Yeah, that's my approach too - I've basically invested in a set of wheels and a groupset so if I don't like the ride, I'll just get a new frameset and stick them on.

I know what you mean - it's very easy to get carried away. But then, I don't mind spending a bit of money - if you want decent equipment you have to spend a bit sometimes.

I'm trying to avoid getting too smitten with the Pug bug - the Mrs is thnking about a road bike and I keep looking around for small Peugeot frames! Have to keep reminding myself that I have other things to do than mess around with bikes!
