Got this on it's way to me soon of of a friend in a couple of counties over.

Thinking of making it single speed with bull horns, but keeping it retro at the same time EDIT: That hasn;t worked out well, so it will have modern parts now.

I will keep the thread updated as soon as I get parts etc.

Kinetic-uk looks nice .

Very pretty.

If God existed and had a bicycle, he (or she) would have one with a quill stem - not one of these weird, new-fangled threadless things.

When it comes to making your bike in the metal, remember these wise words from the Scriptures.

Also, he (or she) would agree with me that tyres are black and that saddle and bar tape shouldn't match.

I agree, a threaded headset and a quilled stem will give a more retro look that you're after.

Yup, I'm having a quill stem. This is just a mock up which my friend did as it's still at his house a couple of counties over.

Cheers, it'll be in my hands within the next month or so, and then I'll have it built.

You can get nice shiny silver ones though, or big flats and those seat belt strap things, anything but big black pedals :s

Not that we're judging you or anything...

I agree, but it's going to have mostly modern parts on it. I'm going to get another retro road bike later on in time so this build is just a cheap conversion.
