Hi, Is it me , or do other members suffer with what I can only describe as "phantom punctures", I can be riding along at a steady 15- 20 mph, and just get a sensation of a rear flat. (Always rear) so convinced that I have to stop to check the tyre, I might add this only happens during the latter stages of a long (40-50 mile) ride Just wondered if anyone else experiences this.

I get this at times i cant explain it either its always the rear too, i dont bother getting off now i just flick the back wheel up like a bunnyhop and feel it hit the floor that way i can tell if its flat or not

Yep, have had that feeling a few times. Usually stop and give the tyre a poke to convince myself all is fine.

Yep , I get that ,its the sound that first attracts my attention. I guess its the road surface.

The cheap and frankly terrible chipseal approach to repairing roads is the main culprit imo. You end up with a very uneven road surface that deteriorates rapidly. It's being done near me on roads carrying HGVs day and night. The mind boggles.

So much of that in kent now.. downright dangerous immediately and just after it's been laid.
