Serious question. "Chinese gale".
Where does that term come from?

It was quite common in the 1960s' and 70's, but seems to have fallen out of use, (like "bonk").

The Chinese gale provides one of those delightful days when you feel like you are riding through treacle all day - you're glad when you've had enough.
