RIP.

Although on reflection Rest in Extremely Loud is probably more apt.....

If only I could remember my 17th birthday when I saw them ...

Back stage after the gig - getting autographs.
Lemmy to my friends girlfriend.

Lemmy - How old are you?
Girl - 15 ... why?
Lemmy - Why not ? :becool:

That reminds me of the time Lemmy told me to eff off when I bumped into him in a pub. I never met Phil but I seem to remember I have a VHS somewhere of him telling anecdote after anecdote about recording and touring with Motorhead. I think there was one about Phil still playing drums with a broken neck. He was insane but a legend nonetheless.

They used to drink in a pub at the top end of Portobello Road in the early Seventies. A small place with a bit of an amphetamine vibe and wall-to wall leather jackets. It was quite an eye-opener.

"...I don't want to live forever..."?. No. Very sad news.

I used to know Motorhead quite well in the early/mid 1980's, did quite a few gigs with them, Phil was a bit feral, but they were all nice blokes.
The worrying thing is he was only a few years older than me

I always used to take great delight when they were on TOTP, was only young then but became a fan. Their later stuff I also like but it the 'classic' era was best.

Yep, got Overkill album in green vinyl and Bomber in blue in the loft somewhere. Ace of Spades in gold too but that was common. The first two are quite a bit rarer
