Not sure, but I think the foreplanes would be at a sharper angle for a Typhoon to fly as slow as a Herc.
I could be wrong - and the Herc is a very stable platform, whilst the Typhoon is about as manoeuverable as they come.
On the modern fast aircraft fleet (Tyhpoon and Tornado principly as far as the RAF is concerned), the recepetor probe is retractable and sits in the airframe along side the cockpit, in the case of the Typhoon just above the canards IIRC. [/geek]
Whether its PS or not, I wouldn't have a clue. Seems rather pointless just for a flight photo-op.
I believe MrP thinks it would work if they were on a treadmill. Why would someone photoshop something that the RAF probably mess about doing every day... what else have they got to do to fill the tedium?
I've had a search around the Internet and the general opinion on specialist forums is that the photos are real but clever cropping and the use of a telephoto lens makes the Eurofighter look closer than it is. There was a chap who saw the photoshoot taking place from the ground near Grimsby and apparently there were lots of reports of a near miss made to the emergency services/air force.
