bikes, why? I've just been in Bordeaux and not one but two people wanted to take pictures of my bike. Do they just think it's a thing of beauty, or is there some sinister motive (Some gang boss in a warehouse somewhere, "this one is worth stealing, find out where he lives.")?

Bordeaux is a great city for cycling. Family Wafflycat did a tour based in that area. Got all sorts of welcomes and kindness from many local people. It's a place I'd like to go back to. Did you see any of the gloriously muscular cycling policemen???

I think they'll just probably be into bikes (unless you're riding the $000's gold plated bike that was produced recently)...if you are riding the aforementioned bike, where do you live? ;-)
