Two corned beef pies with shortcrust pastry.

One's a birthday pie for some pupils to share. The other is to be savoured by colleagues.

Can't wait until tomorrow. :hungry:

They are too hot to eat at the moment

Don't know if this can be classed as a real pie but every know and then i will get Meat & potato pie chips and grave , will scoop 3/4 of the pie out out and refill with chips and gravy and then put the pie on a muffin ,,,,,, what a treat far beyond cockney cooking wizard Jamie Olivers comprehension

The pies went down a treat with pupils and teacher colleagues.

Both pies scored 10/10.

It was a very pleasant lunch time.

I'm particularly pleased as the pies were the amalgamation of two recipes:

The Hairy Bikers' corned beef pie recipe used for the filling.

Delia Smith's steak and kidney pie recipe was used for the crust.

My wife is keen for pie making and eating becoming an infrequent event. I sense a dissonance event approaching. ;)

Now seems a good enough time to ressurect the idea of a pie ride.

I mentioned it earlier in the year and fully intended to get one organised before the end of July. There were too many distractions though and it never came to be.

I did the research though and visited all the possible pie shops in the area.

Please do.

It will happen next year in June or July.

Interest was expressed from far and wide. It's inevitable that the group ride will be on a Saturday. If I set up a Permananent Audax any day will do and I'll pick control points that will have alternative to pie shops as control points to accommodate Sunday riders.

I have considered using Boroughbridge as a starting point with a view of camping there on a Friday and/or Saturday night and enjoying the quiet roads of north Yorkshire on Saturday and Sunday.

Leeds is also suitable as a starting point as there is a pie shop butcher's shop at the end of my street :hungry:

Leave it with me.
