Pinarello FP2 105 Carbon or Ribble Evo Pro Carbon?

I did write a previous thread about a few different bikes I was considering buying. After some careful consideration I have increased my budget and I am stuck between these two bikes:

The Ribble Pro Evo Carbon for £1020 +£140 of upgrades delivered:http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/speci...nstructor&part=SE12SSEVOPROSHIM&sub=conf_SERC

or

Pinarello FP2 105 Carbon for £1160 delivered:http://www.wiggle.co.uk/pinarello-fp2-105-2011/

Both have similar spec frame and the 105 groupset. The Ribble is slightly lighter (I think the Ribble weighs about 8.19kg and the Pinarello about 8.5kg perhaps owing to its lighter/better wheels. I think the Pinarello looks absolutely stunning, but the ribble looks good too (although not as good) and I could build it to my custom spec in terms of sizing. Which would you be more tempted by- to make the analysis more accurate assume you can spend £140 on upgrades for the Evo Pro Carbon to make both bikes the same price.

You are aware that Wiggle only have the 51cm British Cycling colour Pinarello in stock?

I agree with this! Having spoken to a few people and had some time to think I feel the Ribble is clearly the better bike for the money. The wheels supplied with the Pinarello are rubbish and cost £60, very heavy! The Ribble also has a lighter frame and fork plus I could do a fair amount of upgrading with the extra £140 and also the bike would be custome built so provide a better fit for my body.

I'm riding the Planet X Evo Carbon tomorrow which is essentially a very similar bike (I think the frame is almost identical to the Ribble). I'd be very interested to hear the reasons those of you suggesting I go for the Pinarello would put forward- perhaps because it is a more prestigous brand (and hence over priced?). Thank you for all the replies, i've now looked at and considered many bikes and feel the Ribble Evo Pro Carbon offers un beatable value.

Over-priced and under-specced tat! I'd go for the the Ribble, all day long

Thank you very much for these suggestions- i'd never heard of these companies! You've really thrown a spanner in the works now, that Canyon 6.0sl looks very good value indeed. And weighs in at 8.1kg! I'm going to have to go and do a bit of research on these!

Checkout Rose and Canyon too...

for £809 i would go with the canyon 6.0 sl with full 105 and have money spare for accessories
