It was interesting to hear what 5 Live had to say about it all. Motty thinks Chelsea has bought well, but is not so sure about Liverpool. He thought Birmingham had done especially well, but Aston Villa and Fulham had done some good deals too. They all thought Robbie Keane was a good buy for West Ham. Blackpool are up against it because they lost their best player to Liverpool. I read Konchelski has gone on loan to Nottingham Forrest. I thought Liverpool were short of left backs.
Yeah but Motty is getting a bit past it.
I still think Liverpool have offloaded Torres - who'se looked disinterested for months - for a monstrous fee and got 2 forwards who complement each other (if fit) and could be a good move.
It appears Charlie Adam is staying at Blackpool.
quote from BBC
"And here's another one for Tangerine fans, with news emerging from Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston that - as it stands - Charlie Adam will not be leaving the club, despite the attentions of Liverpool and, previously, Aston Villa"
so that's good news for Blackpool, but not for Liverpool.
Still - when Carroll's fit I'm sure Kenny will play a 442 with Carroll and Saurez complementing each other - and Morieles and Gerrard aren't a bad supply line.
I agree Koncheski loaned to Forest makes no sense - unless the wage bill was getting too much.
As I said before - I don't see Torres and Drogba fitting together. I think Liverpool (even without Adam) have come out of all this the best.
Weird to see Man City spend nothing.
