I hadn't heard of them before. If they are half as good as the Big Apple Greeters in NYC, it will be a great way to see part of the city.

A few months before MrWC & I booked to go to Paris I saw a bit about Parisian for a Day on the BBC 24hr news. It looked interesting and I thought we'd give it a go, as we were in Paris for a long weekend. I'm glad we did it. What/where/who depends on the information you give to PFAD when online booking. Example - if you're interested in fashion, you'll get someone who knows all about the fashion district. If you're interested in food/perfume/wine/art, you'll get someone who specialises in each of those, if you see what I mean. If you want to find out more about a particular part of the city, you'll get someone who specialises in that area. If you're English-speaking, you'll get an English-speaking guide. The man we had was excellent. MrWC and I had our own guided tour of Montmartre, all for free and given by someone of great knowledge, and we kept walking by 'official' guided tours where people had paid quite a bit of money to be rushed about here and there, whilst we strolled at our leisure with our personal guide
