Is she still up in Karlstad (Sweden) without her "doggy" passport to get back home? 
She was very brave, protecting me from Longer's dog.
I read the Moomintroll Family books when I was very young, and recently came across them again while in Sweden on holiday last September.
Tove Jannson has written a book of short stories for adults called "A Winter Book", I found a second hand copy, but have yet to read it.
