Just wondering, who is up there in lancaster? Secondly, I am about to email a few of the bike shops there to see what job spaces they have - which are the ones to avoid and the ones to go for? I would prefer a decent LBS which has a large Road bike contingent if possible, don't want to end up emailing some shop which deals in bmx and town bikes

Cheers!....and see you all in october

There's just a branch of Lakes Leisure, a branch of a small local chain called the Edge and an internet only warehouse in Morecambe.

None of these would constitute a 'decent LBS'.

Are you looking to work or get work done?

For work done, you have two choices:
Hewitts in Leyland are 30 minutes down the motorway or two stops on the train.
Alternatively Mike at Lakeland Cycles on the A6 in Bolton Le Sands is an old fashioned bike mechanic that can fix anything and builds superb wheels. I doubt if he's on the internet. Or phone.

If you're looking for work then the competition is not great - all the shops in Lancaster are staffed exclusively by rejects from Halfords.

Looking for work sorry.....hmmm.. if what you say is true then it may be better off getting a job elsewhere. But sticking with the cycle shop idea for a bit what about the edge cycleworks or vanilla cycles?
