Interestingly, how much worth do you personally place upon academic achievement as a means of determining intelligence? What are your results so far, if I might ask (I am genuinely interested, this is not a macho contest [because I'd win])

Academic achievement is about effort at A level stages. I pissed about for a year, ended up with a number of my modules being Us, which brought my grades down to DDDD I could have retaken some exams and turned out with somethink like BCC but I am capable of more, so now working my tits (manly pecs) off for AAA/AAB.

What you get out of A levels is what you put in, intelligence helps but hard work is needed.

GCSE's can be winged if you are clever enough.

Think you're right there, although I know a few people who work really hard and still don't get what they want which is always a shame.

Not really, but it does show some. I know someone that can write a good letter of complaint, but he really is pretty dim.

well, at a wild guess, I'd say keep up the attitude and you'll find those stats change dramatically through your life. Not that I seriously expect you to take heed and, when it happens, I probably couldn't even be bothered to say 'I told you so'

I reckon Joe's only like this on the forum exactly because he's NOT in real life. Everyone wants to explore all the areas of their personality as they discover them, and what better way to do it than behind the veil of the all-forgiving ether?

I reckon Joe is most likely different "in real life" so isn't as arrogant and macho as he comes accross here
