RT, I need a partner. I can't afford this on my own-
I loved that place
It's a sad day for me. My dad took us when I was a toddler, and it's one of those ingrained memories. Then we went again when I was about 10, when it was at its peak, with 2 trains running on each track, and the trees at their prime. I was talking to the owner a couple of years ago and he said what made it so magical back then was that kids could ride the trains without their parents, and disappear into another world.
We took our boys there three years ago and, while the place was struggling (the trees were too tall so you could see around the park while you were riding), it was still a great couple of days. The eldest keeps asking when we can go back. I doesn't look like we can.
Some of those locos were built by David Curwen, a genius. A dying breed.
Those are fantastic. It seems a shame the collection is being broken up.
I remember going about 10 years ago in the Summer Hols. Our family had a glorious day out. Shame indeed. I don't really see the attraction of this http://www.dobwalls.com/press-releases.html
I don't know. We're all supposed to be yoghurt knitters.
