Howies has lost its way, I used to love getting the catalogues and its marketing and production philosophy. But now I can see it for what it is, overpriced tat, or at least not worth the money they're asking.
I have T Shirts from 1992(ish) from Howies that are still going strong, but the new stuff doesn't inspire me with confidence.
It seems that the Timberland takeover has painted Howies with its corporate brush.
Shame.

I haven't had any catalogues recently but the shop isn't that far away... but I'm starting to think I ought to be looking for Christmas presents so I might head that way for Mr Summerdays as his favourite cycling t-shirt based on how often he wears it is a Howies Merino one. (Hope he doesn't check on this - though he obviously had been on the other day as he was commenting on how many posts I had made - I try reminding him about the many bargains we have had the nudge on from this forum - I'll miss them if I don't check frequently.
