I wasn't sure what to make of it at first. Anisina sounded like a demo track on a Yamaha keyboard the first time I listened to it. The album's grown on me though.

For context, my favourite Floyd albums are Dark Side, Wish You Were Here and Animals. Then Meddle, The Wall, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. Then The Division Bell and The Endless River. I don't much like anything else.

Sorry, big Waters fan here and 'The Final Cut' was the last I liked, I have got 2 of the later ones BTW but still prefer Rogers 'solo' stuff after his split from the band.

No - it's a Waters free zone, thankfully.
Surely, the majority of Floyd's iconic albums (Darkside, Wish You Were Here, right up to The Final Cut) were written in the most part by Waters? IMO everything after the Final Cut is lacking a certain something. Obviously this is open to debate but it is hard to disagree that a high percentage of Floyd's most memorable tracks & albums were predominantly the work of Waters

Amused to Death is by far the best thing he's done since Floyd, although Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking is good too. I listened to The Final Cut a lot too, as well as The Wall, DSOTM, Animals and Meddle. I never really liked Momentary Lapse of Reason, and although The Division Bell has it's moments, it is at best 'a reasonable facsimilie of a Pink Floyd album' as Waters once called it I believe. I had Ummagumma too, but that was a bit too weird for me.

="Rockyountain, post: 3376927, member: 14044"]You are right but whenever I hear him now he's whinging on about what a raw deal life has given him. He seems to have lost his ability to sing and I've grown to realise that I preferred the musicianship of David Gilmour and Rick Wright.

I just find Waters an insufferable bore and a pseud, which is sad given he was such a great musician. I guess I come down on the Gilmour side of the Waters/Gilmour debate.
I liked the waters era as song writer ....but much prefer the awsome bass playing of guy pratt

Actually Waters only contributed to 5 songs on DSotM. He was a major writer on the next 4 though.

I love David Gilmore's playing and AMLoR has really grown on me more recently.

Nobody wrote more and iirc he was soley responsible for Money, Brain Damage and Eclipse? The other classic, Time is (i think) attributed to all four.

That is correct. Breath is Gilmore and Wright and Us and Them is Wright. I mention them because they're also favourites of mine.
