Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
The communal bike at work which 5 of us share got wrecked over the summer.

It was a 10-speed old, tatty, abysmal MTB that was the worst thing I'd ridden before it was crashed. It was mildly better afterwards. An M'Tec Meteor 10 it had no front brake, bent forks, cracked seat, a 44/34 crankset which was bent, wonky LH pedal, cracked tyres, bent handlebars, horrible grips. Then someone hit a wall with it ... not me ... and straightened some bits out by doing so.

So my turn to provide one came; I picked up a Peugeot Premiere P10N and there's no way that's staying as a communal bike. It's worth too much and is too good for use as a hack bike between university campuses.

Therefore, before one of the others gets the chance to borrow and ruin it I have sourced a replacement; a 7-speed Pinnacle Neon One which is from 2011-ish. Bought via eBay I collect it on Weds/Fri from near my work. And yes, it needs a bit of work which is fine.

Any thoughts about these please?

Most of the owners reviews for this bike on Evans' website are good, so it has to be better than the ratbike that it is replacing .http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pinnacle/neon-one-hybrid-bike-ec027466#reviews

I picked the bike up this evening; it turns out the seller's one of my university colleagues. Had I known I wouldn't have had to walk the 2 miles to their house

Advertised by her boyfriend as 'with flat tyres' she pumped them up for me () and I rode it back to my university campus.

@russ.will - it's road rash but with a heavy scrape. Basically she fell off!

First thoughts?

It's light. Very light for a cheap bike and doesn't feel like the near-10kg Evans spec states. And rides well; I'm surprised how easily it climbs hills but there won't be much in the way of top speed. The wheels and tyres are fine but the brakes need tweaking as they're soft.

All in all a decent bike for going between the university campuses, which is what it'll be used for.

Wow, you lot get that organised..... hmmmm

Our campus has actually condensed in the last few years, so a bike isn't necessary, you walk now.
