We thought so but a bit worried about the crime rate there. Mind you, we have searched the map and can't find a Causton close by, so maybe it's a different Midsomer Norton. No Badgers Drift either.
We will keep out of the wood, just in case though.

I love living in Lichfield. Great cycling with lots of lanes and not much traffic on them. A variety of cycling clubs nearby. A station on the west coast main line and a suburban station to Birmingham. Good road links, cheap house prices, a thriving town centre with attractions such as the cathedral and the Samuel Johnson birthplace museum and a sense of community. I can get to my folks in Leeds in under two hours, to London in one hour 15 mins and to the Peak District or Church Stretton for good hill walking in under an hour. The only downside is that it is a long way from the sea.

The last time we had a thread similar to this, it transpired that the vast majority of folk were happy living where they lived at present.
Apart from @screenman of course!
I'm not sure whether that shows they all made lucky perfect choices of residence or a heap of self-delusion.
I like living where I do too!

My top place to live would be York. I love it there. I kick myself regularly that we didn't take the plunge a few years ago and move.
I'm also quite fond of Keswick and think it would be a nice place to retire to.
I'd hate to have to go back to Rochdale where I grew up, and I'd never choose a big city like Manchester or London.

I love living in North Wales: great scenery, clean air, nice people. I would hate to live in a big city. Used to live in Southern England and brought up my two children there. No way would I go back there, too much of a rat race. My two children would not go back there either, they both love it up here. We left Sussex in 1984 with no regrets.

What ! living in Eastbourne has got to be better than where I was brought up Croydon.

I've mostly lived in London (Sarfeast Lahhndan!), but also Cornwall, Kent, Hong Kong, New York, Hamburg and Athens.

I'd have no problem if I never went back to Athens again, Hong Kong has so radically changed from when I was there it's now a different city.
NY and Hamburg are great, I could live in either (bar the language and culture issues)
Cornwall I love, and got loads of family there, but I'd not want to live in a village with a weekly bus and one pub
So it comes back to London and Kent, so I have a house in each. Sorted.

In fairness to screen, the Lincolnshire badlands' charms are an acquired taste. Ma and Pa Bollo live just outside Lincoln in a village call Skellingthorpe, aka "Smelly Skelly" due to the rendering plant on its outskirts. A walk from Skelly to Lincoln along the Fossdyke has a bit of a Paris-Roubaix vibe; flat as a kipper's and with a few coal-fired power stations on the horizon.

I have after 30 years aquired the taste, just not liking the flavour as much as I used too. There is a huge cycling scene going on in these parts, but the road conditions leave a lot to be desired.

I can live anywhere in England. Through inertia and re-marriage I'm in the East Mids, but once my youngest is old enough for big school it'll be back to The Northern Isles for me, never to leave again.
