The new nano is very nice ?

Apparently very good, cheap, and were ridden by some very good amateurs. Not too keen on the SL-pro's geometry personally, but that's just preference.

The nano is better, but more expensive

Thanks Fossy

Yep the frame is a little small with a pretty angled top tube, but this is something that i quite like, I'll need a 60 frame so quite like the idea of a small frame in that size. stops me looking like I'm riding a ladder to work.

Nano is a beauty, but i cant justify the cost (what with this being my first roadie)

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. Fantastic bike, feels so much smoother/better build than my old giant. I've found it very comfortable and loving every ride on it, increased my avg on the commute on it also

Friend of mine had one and loved it as a carbon upgrade from aluminum but grew to dislike the amount of flex the frame developed. I know it was also to do with their very cheap wheels but when climbing, he had to loosen the rear brake to stop the wheels rubbing on the shoes. You can get a brand knew frame for £400 and speaks volumes to me but having said that, he also got full Dura Ace all in for £1,500 and that's pretty hard to beat!

That sort of flex sounds very very wrong! could it be possible that your friend hadn't done the quickrelease up properly on the rear wheel?

It will be the wheels flexing. Point taken with a 60cm frame - won't look too big because of the compact design.

PS I do like the metallic white ones.

I got a SRAM Red equipped SL Pro on the cycle to work scheme at the end of last year. I don't recognise the flex issue that has been described but I upgraded the wheels to Ksyrium Elites and they are super stiff. The bike came with Fulcrum 7s and they were pretty decent too.

It's a lot of a bike for the cash, the frame is stiff and responsive and it just climbs like a monster. £1099 it cost (san wheel upgrade) - the shifters and mechs alone would cost you £600! I'd thoroughly recommend.

Serious kit for good cash. You can't go wrong.

Look at the riders that used these on the top amateur scene over the last few years. Yes they got them free, but if they were crap, they wouldn't ride them.

Thanks all.

so I just need to consider the wheels as a potentiual updgrade (very simple with Planet x's ordering system...its like shopping at tescos!)

Oh, and of course the most important question... metallic white or carbon weave black....errrr....emmmmm

I got planet x model b wheels with mine. Semi aero and aero spokes seem good so far hubs are very free spinning.

The white has a lovely pearlescent finish, gotta keep it clean though!

I've been looking to treat myself and something like this would be just the ticket.

They seem pretty much race bikes though. I don't race but would this be any good for sportives etc and long rides........75miles upwards?

Colly it's a great frame. Tried and tested for years.

There is a secret with P X - near VAT returns, things dive in price...... ! Really,

I got a black one a couple of years ago - and like it very much. Just bought the frame though, built it up myself. Never had any problems with flex, certainly never had rims rubbing on brake blocks!

After I got it I thought maybe I should have got the white one, but then I dont clean it very often so I guess black was the right choice.
