In advance of my proposed 200km ride next spring, I want to start looking for possible routes. I've plotted a few options on Map My Ride, but it doesn't give much useful information about elevation - I've found a lot of rides I've plotted on there look a lot flatter than they are!

Is there anywhere I can plan routes that gives useful elevation data? I'm also hoping for something that gives total elevation gain/loss for the ride like Garmin Connect does.

It doesn't need to have the option to download rides to a gps device, although I wouldn't object if it did.

ridewithgps is a good site IMO and creates tcx files which are really useful or creates gps routes and tracks.
