Having said what I won't be doing (partying), what I will be doing is ... chatting with a friend of over 45 years standing, having a few drinks, and probably watching a film, but definitely not doing the NY countdown!

I've decided to compromise! I'm going to a party that starts at 19:30, staying until about 21:00, wishing those folks a HNY and then going round to see my pal for the quiet night in!

It's off to manchester to see in the new year with friends also celebrating our friends 60th Birthday and "a little bird told me", he's proposed to his dear good lady after living together for quite a number of years! so I guess its gunna be quite a celebration. HNY everyone catch ya all soon x

Could do as that sounds like half decent entertainment, we caught a local mostly AC/DC band recently by accident but am just about to light the barbeque.

Quiet night in with the partner and new baby. I'm still gonna get smashed on Old Rosie though. The lady can't due to brest feeding ha ha ha.

The usual for us - wander around to my sister-in-law's house, have some food and drink with the family, let off a few fireworks at midnight (the b-i-l makes his own) and then waddle home again when it's all over.

Very handily the sister-in-law lives in the next street along ...

Just finished putting up lining paper in the spare room. Evening bike ride postponed because of decorating overrun. Steak and chips beckons followed by a modicum of alcohol, a soupcon of sky lanterns preceded research on getting a fireworks making license.

Back to the steak and chips.

Flame on.
