Oh dear. I've gone and got the plastic out and spent some cash.:biggrin: What will the wife say!

Yes I've gone and bought this lovely beastie (option 2) (the background is in this thread). It should improve my filming quite a bit. I've noticed that it is getting harder to make out registrations so it was time to get a new camera before this one went pop!

I've had a nice e-mail conversation with Ed at docamsport. He's been very helpful and I might have wangled a small discount! :biggrin: There might be a forum discount on the way, watch this space....

So when I get it and get it up and running I will of course write a review for it, bearing in mind that my recorder (Archos 404) will hold it back a little. However, I hope to see a marked improvement over the Archos supplied camera. If not, I'll be asking for a refund!:smile:

What have I done...!!

Actually, because of a recent remortgage (got in before the rates went mad) we have a few hundred quid of spare cash in the bank (ok it's really the banks money, but who's checking!).

So a few days ago I mentioned to my wife that we haven't treated ourselfs for ages and that she should take some of the money and get the clothes she needs and I would be able to get a few bits and bobs that I need.


It's all about the ground work......:smile:

Ah I might be doing that next year. We have a cycle to work scheme here so I'm going to start looking into that. It would spread the cost over the year which would also help (although we don't get the bike VAT free in the NHS:sad:)

You've got a Sirrus Elite haven't you Maz. That is one bike I'm considering....

The Claud Butler Ravana with slicks is an excellent commuter bike with steep geometry, for those who are interested in filming and ready to up their game. You'd be daft not to part with £4000 for one if you can get your hands on one.

I'll keep that one in mind, although I would probably be slightly more interested in the £249 version....:biggrin:

if you mount the camera on the fork leg and get something that is static in position in relation to the camera (like the front wheel) or something in part of the shot/camera view, it will make the video look smoother and less jerky as it gives the viewers eye a reference point.

try it - makes for much better footage
