Just saw the vid Magnatom the quality looks good especially the contrast; I could nearly read all the graffiti on the wall and there doesn't seem to be any flood damage.
I had a laugh at the bloke in front of you at the start he was going a fair pace but at the end it looked like he was fairly struggling.
PS half way you could hear mobile phone interference (I was surprised there was reception), some idiot driver on his phone up above perhaps.

How did you get it up without the dreaded YouTube compression making a half-decent video look even cruddier (and indeed Windows MovieMaker reducing the quality) ?

No heavy breathing, because the bloke in front was slowing me down quite a bit. That was a gentle cycle through the tunnel, though not for the poor chap in front, who earlier on I had seen pavement cycling. Justice....?


I did exactly the same with this data as I did with the 2007 tunnel video. I set WMM to high quality.

Sometimes when I watch video clips on youtube, there is a lot of what I think is called "buffering" when the video stops, and a twirling circle appears, then perhaps the video continues for ten seconds and stops again. Is this to do with the speed my computer runs at? Your video clip played straight thru without any pauses.

I am asking this because I am thinking of buying a laptop, so is the speed crucial, megabits per second? or the size/speed of something else. I like to watch videos clip from a particular site, that seems to become unwatchable because of the "buffering". I know this is slightly off-topic but you seem to know about these sort of things.

The speed quoted by your ISP is the maximum rate, before contention.

Contention rates are the way the speed is affected when a number of people are using the same distribution node, so at peak times the speed is slower.

Ah I might be doing that next year. We have a cycle to work scheme here so I'm going to start looking into that. It would spread the cost over the year which would also help (although we don't get the bike VAT free in the NHS)

Good one Magnatom! The video is 'stand alone' interesting...made my imagination work. You are wasted filming traffic! The clattering noise is bizarre - I like to ride in 'silence'...I would probably be throwing the bike over the edge + self if I had to cope with that!
I have had one of these Dogcam plus their recorder since last Christmas but have only dabbled with it. The helmet mount is totally useless I found, and you are right about the umbilicals! A ready supply of batteries is helpful too!

I got the Viosport Li-ion battery pack. I couldn't be hassled with lots of batteries.

My mudguard is a little broken. In fact last night I had to tie it back on the bike. I couldn't find anything to fix it with, i.e zip ties or string, so I cut the straps off of a baby bib and I have that tied to the bike and mudguard. Very fetching!!

That is correct, NHS are not VAT registered so they cannot reclaim the VAT on bicycles, most of the products bought by the NHS are zero rated for VAT as they are for health purposes, bicycles however attract full VAT.
