5) Cycling is a very sustainable form of transport. It is probably even more sustainable than walking taking into account the embedded carbon in food. It might not be quite as sustainable as cycling on an electric bicycle, depending on what you eat.
6a) Yes, 3.
6b) At least five days a week.
6c) Mostly getting about town.
6d) To the university, to friends, to the track.
6e) Mostly my normal clothes, with the addition of gloves and cycling jacket and sometimes shades.
6f) lamps and lock.
6g) Would consider it.
6h) Possibly would hire a bike at a railway station, e.g. a Brompton from Oxford railway station or a Boris bike in London.
6i) Have never considered. Probably would not have opportunity to hire equipment from hire schemes in 6h.
6j) Cost of hire. When and where cycle has to be returned. What happens if cycle is damaged or stolen. Possible cycle routes.
