Our local swimming pool used to be part of the High School. When the school moved to a new building they did not get a new pool as the council promised to keep the old pool open.
They have gone back on this and the pool has now been closed since June.
However all is not lost. The pool has not been demolished (as was the council's plan) but is sitting closed while a local community group gets a business plan together and tries to convince the council to consider asset transfer of the pool to the community group.
The group have applied for funding via The Royal Bank of Scotland's community force, and this is where you come in.
