I'm posting to beg a favour.

Inspired by Andrew's example, I've put a book together and stuck it on Amazon.

Now I need all my CycleChat chums to rally round and review it. It's a Kindle-only jobbie, and it costs a frankly outrageous 99p, so by all means save yourself the money and avoid the need for a Kindle by PMing me for a pdf copy - I'll be happy to send one toot sweet.

Don't worry, it's anything but a slog...you can finish the whole thing before your coffee goes cold, guaranteed. You might even enjoy it!

Thanks everyone.

Hmmm, I think you should aim a bit higher:whistle:
Naughty!

What's it about? Um...well, it's basically just a collection of word-related 'bits' that have entertained, amused or otherwise detained me over the years. For example:

Savage protest

A couple of Guardian readers remember protests past...

At a demo in the 80s I saw a banner which said: "Clouseau fans against the bermb."

Dudley Turner
Westerham, Ken

My guitar-playing husband still has his "Music lovers against the bomb diddely-omb-bomb: bomb-bomb" badge.

Ok i bought it, think i can give you 99p.

I liked it, now go and write a proper book because you should
Thanks Hill Wimp - I'm really pleased that you liked it, touched that you bought it (!) and heartened that you think I should write a proper book. I did actually try once...got to about a third the length I was aiming for, then decided it really wasn't very good, and shelved it. My writing's a bit like my cycling - I can sprint but I have no staying power!

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
You do have a fine way with words on your posts and always make me chuckle. I liked the collection you chose and as i was reading it i imagined that little green frog sitting there reading it out. Obviously non CCers wont have that advantage but it worked for me.

Seriously give it a go and i may even be persuaded to put some real cash your way.

Thanks. After a couple of recent disappointments, an encouraging word or three goes a long way. Much appreciated.

Ahh a cut and paste job. Spend a day trawling through the CC cafe and you'll have volume two ready for Monday
