hi, calling all techies and people who know these things

I use iTunes for podcasts. I need to download them to iTunes on my computer and transfer them to my iPod classic 160gb. This has worked very well for years, is then play them whilst driving and cycling (trails)

However, this is becoming and bit 'old school' and I now use Amazon music and a windows phone. I'm looking to get a new android phone and it seems a good time to move over from iTunes and use Spotify, Amazon music etc through the phone, so very little use for iTunes anymore.

However, I really like iTunes for podcasts, it's so easy, all in one place and I subscribe to my favourites.
Is this possible on an android phone. The phone I'm getting can carry a 256gb mini sd card. How can I transfer all my music from iTunes?

The phone I'm looking at is the P9 lite Huawei.

Thanks

Just bought a P9 lite and have to tell you its a brilliant phone, especially for the price. Haven't used Android for some time but the latest version has almost rivaled iOS. There are plenty of stand alone podcast apps.

To transfer your itunes music you must first transfer it to your computer and from there to your phone, there are tutorials on YouTube.

You can't use iTunes on Android.

Thanks, I almost bought yesterday but wanted to make some checks, I don't listen to iteunes music much, just seems sensible to retain it as I've probably spent quite a bit building up the music. As I now just use Amazon music I wonder if I'll ever really use itunes anymore?

I think it's more podcasts, the useability on iTunes is great
I've used that, and it's pretty good. I'm currently using Podcast Republic, which I prefer, but they keep changing the look and feel, which is very annoying and reminds me of iTunes!
That may suit me, I'm going to buy this phone and work it out, seems a good phone for the money

Seems great so far. I bought it for $250 down here which I think is good for the spec. I think they're a similar price in U.K. Like Dimir says in the video there's no gorilla glass but it comes with a screen protector and a clear case. The charge time is long but battery life is good. He also says the SAR value is high, that's the radiation, but I don't use it much for calls. I got the black.

Went for the 6ii in the end, was told the performance was similar and it's half the price! So made sense

Not used yet as my SIM card doesn't fit, ordered an adapter

I've been using Pocket Casts for years (now use it on Apple). You may find that some podcasts available over iTunes aren't available in PocketCasts but I think there are very few that fall into that category.

That's not true. Podcasts are simply RSS feeds. You can add the URL for any podcast to any podcast app. Google will help you find a podcast.

@david k, did you export/import the OPML file, or are you recreating your feed manually?
Absolutely

But also Podcast apps such as iTunes or PocketCast also allow you to search within the app for podcasts, results can vary per app.
