It was built as a car, with the possibility of racing it.

I remember my Dad commenting about how "in the old days" he would drive to Scotland via Shap before the M6 and at the cafe at the top there was a large car park full of Moggy Minors with their bonnet up and steam coming out as the water merrily boiled

Commonly referred to as "The Good Old Days"

I saw a clutch of Morris Minors out for a Moggy Meet. Probably about 8 of them, all varieties, possibly heading to Chapel Brampton where such people stand around looking under bonnets..
